The site of interest of Janubio
It has a surface of 168 hectares and was declared natural space of the Canaries on June 19 th 1987, as well as area of special ecological sensibility. Situated in the municipality of Yaiza, all along the west coast of the island, this region is an important refuge for nesting and growing of marine migrating birds, from which many are protected species. The salt mats of Janubio, acknowledged by its beauty, are the last ones on duty at Lanzarote making this area even more attractive.
